before your photo-shoot:

Do you have a studio and where is it? - Yes, we do. Our studio is located at 20 St Catherine's Drive, Douglas, Isle of Man, IM1 4BQ. 
Do you do outdoor location photo-shoots? - Yes, we do. We are more than happy to shoot at any location within reason. If you have a specific or favourite location please mention it at the time of the booking. 
What kind of photography do you offer? - Please see our 'Packages & Prices' or 'Portfolio' tab for more info. If you wish to do any other type of photography not covered by our current services, do not hesitate to ask. We will be more than happy to accommodate your wishes, where possible. 
What happens if we are running late or vice versa? Will you extend the shooting time? - We always try to arrive at least 30 minutes before any outdoor photo-shoot, so that we can check all surrounding areas and make a plan. However, if we are late for any reason, we will ensure that you will receive all the time you have paid for, or we will re-schedule, or you will receive a partial refund for the lost time. It will depend on the situation and our agreement and suitability for both parties. We always have a time window between the photo-shoots to cover any unforeseen events. If you are late to the session, we will ensure that we can use the time as efficiently as possible, however, we will not extend the photo-shoot. It is the client's responsibility to arrive on time at the agreed locations.
What if it's raining during our outdoor shoot? - We always check the weather report 24 hours ahead of the photo-shoot and we will contact you, if there is rain forecast we can make alternative arrangements or re-schedule the photoshoot. Our studio is always available in case of rain or bad weather, however the choice is yours. Obviously, the Wedding photo-shoots are completely different. We will discuss all the options in our pre-wedding meeting, so we will cover this option as well and we can select favourite locations ahead of your Wedding Day. 
What if I don't know the meeting location or need more directions? - Please try to plan this day ahead. If you are unsure where the meeting point is, do not hesitate to ask. We will be more than happy to provide maps and directions. Please note that we may not be able to give you directions on the day, as we may be doing another photo-shoot before yours, so try to ask at least a day before.
Do you edit all your photographs? - Yes, we do. All the edits are done by Lucia Dickson. Every image that you will receive is professionally-edited, one at a time, without batching in bulk groups or mass-production. We take great pride in our editing process to ensure all your images are edited to perfection.
Do you sell vouchers? - Yes, we do. These are available in any amounts you wish. Please contact us to request one. This will be either posted or emailed to you depending on the urgency. Please refer to our 'Packages & Prices' section for more details.
How do I book a photo-shoot? - Please go to the 'Contact' section of our website and send us a request, so that we can arrange a time and date to discuss all your requirements. 
How do I secure my booking? - All the bookings must be secured by a deposit. If the agreed deposit is not received, the photographer reserves the right to allocate the slot to another client. 
How can I pay you? - You can pay us via online bank transfer, cheque or cash. Please note that we currently don't accept card payments. Also, the cheques will have to clear in our bank account prior to the photoshoot. Please note that no photo-shoot will take place if not paid in full.
Are your prices VAT inclusive? - We are not VAT registered, so no VAT charges will be added to your prices. 
Are there any hidden charges in your packages? - No, we price honestly and the price for each package includes everything stated in that package. If there is something unclear or you are unsure about anything, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will clarify.
Do you sell additional products, such as albums, canvases, framed prints and so on? - Yes, we do. If your package doesn't include products you wish to purchase, please contact us and we will be more than happy to provide you with the quote. Our Online Gallery also includes  a 'Store' section where you will be able to purchase some of the above-mentioned products, however if you are unable to find the product you are looking for, please contact us and we will try our best to deliver it. 
When is the remainder of the funds due? - The remainder of the funds is payable 24 hours before the photo-shoot if you are paying by online bank transfer. If you paying cash, please ensure that you have the exact amount with you, as we may not be able to give you change at the outside location. Please note that the photo-shoot will not take place if it isn't paid in full. Please note cheques are acceptable, however these have to clear prior to the photo-shoot date. Cheques received on the day of the photo-shoot will not be accepted.
Is my deposit refundable? - Unfortunately, it isn't. If you decide to cancel your photoshoot your deposit will cover any loss in the form of lost bookings and eventual cost already arisen before the actual session. However, we understand that unforeseen events can happen, so we try to work on alternatives where possible and we will try to re-book your session if possible. 
Are you insured? - Yes. We hold Public and Products Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance for Photographers.
Do you hold a DBS certificate? (Previously CRB check or Police Check) - Yes, we do. We hold an Enhanced DBS certificate. This is available to view on request. Please don't hesitate to ask. 
Will you photograph outside of the Isle of Man? - Of course, we will. We can discuss the travel arrangements prior to your booking. 
Do you charge for travel? - We don't charge for any travel within the Isle of Man. There will be additional travel charges for any photo-shoots outside the Isle of Man, which will be agreed before the booking is made.
What if the photographer gets ill and you are unable to do the shoot? - Fingers crossed this well never happen, however never say never. We haven't missed one photo-shoot as yet and we are hoping this will continue. However, if we are unable to attend the photo-shoot you will be notified as soon as possible. Your photo-shoot will be re-scheduled or fully refunded if you wish. You will not lose any money or deposit, as this is outside of yours and our control.

after your photo-shoot:

When will I receive my photos? - The editing usually takes between 7 - 14 days, so you should have your photos within this time frame. If there are any delays due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be informed immediately. No compensation will be paid for any delays. Please note that Wedding Photography takes between 14-30 days, however we always try to provide a few images the following day to share with your family and friends.
Is your Online Gallery secure? - Yes. All our online gallery albums are secured with unique passwords, unless otherwise requested by the client. The passwords will be selected by the client and can be shared with your family or friends. If you wish to change your password at anytime, do not hesitate to contact us and we will arrange this straight away to ensure the privacy of your photographs. 
Can our friends and family view, share and purchase our photographs? - Yes, when your images are loaded onto our secure online Gallery you will be able to share it with your loved ones and they will be able to access the photographs and purchase or share them if they like.
What type of files will I receive? - You will receive professionally edited JPEGs. We don't provide any RAW or any other files to our clients. These are held on our secure devices and drives for any future editing. 
How do I receive my digital images? - Your images will be loaded onto private password protected gallery where you will be able to view, share, download and purchase any additional products from. Once your photos are ready, you will receive an email invitation with the link to your gallery.
Do I own a copyright to my purchased photographs? - Unfortunately, you don't. The copyright to all purchased photographs will always remain with Lucia Dickson Photography. However, you will be granted unlimited but non-exclusive rights to use or reproduce your purchased photographs. The photographer reserves the right to use the photographs without your details for any lawful purpose such as advertising and publicity. If you have any concerns about the use of photographs, do not hesitate to talk to us. If you wish your photographs to stay private this can be arranged by additional written agreement to ensure your privacy. 
What rights do I have to the digital prints? - If your chosen package includes digital images, you will receive reproduction rights to all your images. This gives you the right to reproduce the images for personal use, so that you can use them for prints, sharing them on your social media or making canvases, etc. Commercial use is not allowed if not separately agreed on. The copyright of the images will always remain with Lucia Dickson Photography.
How long will you store my photographs for? - Your photographs will be securely stored for the maximum of two years. After this time, they will be deleted. If you don't wish us to store your photographs at all, you can send us a written request, and we will be more than happy to comply and delete all your images, where we can from all of our secure drives and devices. There will be circumstances where the photographs will have to be stored for longer due to legal reasons.
Do you provide Video Services? - Unfortunately, we don't, sorry.

Do you offer Wedding Photography? - Yes, we do . We will be more than happy to capture this special day for you. Please contact us so we can arrange a personal meeting to discuss all your requirements.
Do you attend Wedding rehearsals? - Yes, please. We believe that Wedding rehearsals are very important and we always attend where possible.
What if it's raining during our Wedding Day? - Don't worry at all. During our initial meeting we will discuss Wedding locations and we will also discuss locations for rainy days, so that this will be agreed ahead of time.

We are more than happy to split your balance into a few payments, as we understand that wedding expenses can be quite overwhelming. If the agreed deposit is not received within an agreed time frame, the photographer reserves the right to allocate the slot to another client.
How can I pay you? - You can pay us via online bank transfer, cheque or cash. Please note that we currently don't accept card payments. Also, the cheques will have to clear in our bank account 30 days prior to the photo-shoot. Please note that no photo-shoot will take place if the balance is not paid in full 30 days before your Wedding.

You will be given a few options to consider. We will try to find another Wedding Photographer who will step in and do the photo-shoot instead. These will be professional Photographers we work with. If you agree to this option, all your funds will be transferred to the new photographer and any difference between packages will be covered by Lucia Dickson Photography. If you decide against this option, and decide to book different photographer of your choice, you will be refunded all of your funds immediately, so you can pay your new photographer. Please note any difference in price packages will have to covered by you - the client. If we are unable to secure a Wedding Photographer for your Wedding Day, we will refund you the full amount and you will receive a £200.00 voucher as an apology for any future photo-shoots or products. 
Do you provide Video Services? - Unfortunately, we don't, sorry.


post-wedding questions: 

When will I receive my Wedding photos? -  Editing of Wedding photographs usually takes between 14 - 60 days, so you should have your photos within this time frame. If there are any delays due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be informed immediately. No compensation will be paid for any delays. We do however try our best to provide these photographs as soon as possible after your Wedding date. The good news is that you will receive a few images within 48 hours after your Wedding, so you will be able to share these with your friends and family until all your photos are beautifully edited.
